A mum has discovered the ultimate hack to help her indoor jungle flourish and it's all thanks to a popular children's toy.
Mayang from Brisbane, Queensland, has revealed how she uses Orbeez, the small water absorbent balls for children, to help grow cuttings and to maintain her mature hydroponic plants.
The mum says that $3 packets of water beads from Amazon help to grow roots faster and allow her plant cuttings to last longer.
'I was doing water only but they all started to rot. Now they are happy which makes me happy,' she explained when other plant lovers questioned the method.
The mum simply poured a packet of Orbeez straight into a container and waited for them to grow in size, which can take up to four hours.
Once they reached the size of a blueberry or small grape she poured the Orbeez into her pots, taking them up to the half way point.
She then poured a small amount of water into each pot plant and let the small jelly-like toys 'perform their plant magic'.
Some plant lovers were concerned the toys would be the perfect host for bacteria and start to smell.
But the mum insisted she hadn't notice a bad odour and her plants had been resting in the beads for three weeks.
She also revealed she has never had to top up the water level - with the bead maintaining it for her.
The hack left hundreds of plant fans impress with many quick to comment on the clever idea.

'Great idea. Thank you. I just ordered some,' one mum wrote.
'Interesting. The plants look very happy,' another wrote.
'That's a great idea! My daughter has some that haven't absorbed water yet so I might have to give this a go,' a third commented.
But others weren't so sure adding the water beads might tempt their kids to disrupt their plants which would create even more chaos at home.
